The husband-and-wife team behind 2,000+ details, a national IDA award, and a business built from the bed of a pickup truck.
How It Started
From a Truck Bed
to a Business
We started detailing in 2018. Cody had prior knowledge about detailing and wanted to start his own business. We started with a 200-gallon water tank in the back of his F-150, and we later upgraded to an old trailer we spray-painted bright blue. We were detailing in parking lots and in people's driveways.
We gave up the dream in 2019 after we got married. We both started working for a company we loved at first but later realized owning a business was still the dream. Summer of 2020, we started “Discount Detailing” — quality work at an affordable price. We both quit our jobs and took a huge risk that paid off.
A local business allowed us to use a covered space in the back for a little over a year and we outgrew that. Then we moved to our driveway and outgrew that too. We launched mobile detailing and added two mobile units to better serve our customers. Our dream was to one day own our very own state-of-the-art detailing shop in a prime location — and in February 2026, our prayer was answered. We now have a shop at 2914 B River Road, Henrico, NC as well as mobile services.
We owe all of our success to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without Him, this wouldn't be possible.

Cody Umphlett
Owner / Master Detailer / Paint Correction Specialist
29 years old, born and raised in Conway, NC. When he’s not detailing, Cody serves his community as an EMT and volunteer firefighter. He earned the IDA Certified Detailer with Skills (CD/SV) credential — one of a select few in North Carolina — and was named 2023 IDA Marine Detailer of the Year and 2024 Lake Gaston Chamber Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Alexis Umphlett
Co-Owner / Master Detailer / Watercraft Specialist
26 years old, born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Alexis works full-time as a nurse alongside running the business. She handles all scheduling and social media and assists Cody with every detail — from interiors to boats to ceramic coatings, she can hold her own.

Our Journey
Eight Years of Growth
2018
The Beginning

Took a Detour
Got married and stepped away. Went to work for someone else — but the dream never went away.

Went All In
Both quit our jobs and relaunched full-time. Quality work at a price people can actually afford.

Shield Certified
Factory training in Raleigh. Became certified ceramic coating installers.

IDA Marine Detailer of the Year. Cody earned his CD/SV credential.
