The Process
What Is Paint Correction?
Your clear coat has imperfections in it — swirls from washing, water spots, light scratches, oxidation from sitting in the sun. We machine-polish them out with compounds and polishes until the surface is flat and smooth again.
Factory clear coat is about 4-5 mils thick. A correction takes off 0.2-0.4 mils. We measure thickness before and during the process so we never take off more than we should. When it's done, light reflects evenly across the whole panel. That's the wet-look shine people talk about.
Correction Levels
1-Step vs 2-Step
Depends on how bad your paint is. We look at it and tell you which one you actually need.
1-Step Correction
Removes light swirls, surface scratches, and adds gloss. Included with all ceramic coating packages.
Best for: Vehicles in good condition with light swirl marks from washing.
2-Step Correction
A heavier cut followed by a polish to remove deeper scratches, water spots, and oxidation. Restores maximum clarity and depth.
Best for: Vehicles with moderate to heavy swirls, deeper scratches, or neglected paint.
Included With Ceramic
Paint Correction + Ceramic Coating
Every ceramic coating package comes with at least a 1-step correction. We polish the paint first, then coat it. The coating bonds better to a smooth surface, and the gloss is noticeably deeper.
